What’s in it?
We’re seeking a seasoned audio engineer (4–5 years’ experience) to craft and integrate dynamic sound for a Unity-based mobile game using Wwise. You’ll collaborate with game designers, developers, and composers to build immersive audio experiences optimized for mobile platforms.
Role Purpose:
Lead the implementation, integration, and optimization of all audio (SFX, music, ambience, voice) within a Unity mobile game using Wwise.
Key Impact: Establish audio pipelines and optimize asset performance to ensure immersive, high‑quality audio while minimizing CPU, memory, and file size footprint.
Collaboration: Work closely with game designers, developers, and composers to deliver seamless audio that enhances gameplay and user engagement
Responsibilities
- Wwise Integration: Author and manage adaptive audio—SoundBanks, RTPCs, switches, events, and streaming—for Unity mobile builds.
- Profiling & Debugging: Use Wwise Profiler, Unity Profiler, and on-device testing to track and address audio performance issues.
- Asset Preparation: Edit, mix, compress, and export audio assets (DAW workflows) optimized for middleware import.
- Tool & Pipeline Development: Create scripts or tools (C#, WAAPI/WAQL, Python) to automate asset deployment and maintenance processes.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with designers, programmers, and QA to meet audio requirements, maintain documentation, and support audio QA passes.
- Documentation & Standards: Maintain Wwise project folders, SoundBank organization, naming conventions, and performance guidelines.
Skill Requirements:
- Deep expertise in Wwise: creating and managing SoundBanks, RTPCs, switches, events, streaming, and optimizing for mobile.
- Comfortable scripting Wwise via WAAPI or WAQL for dynamic runtime control.
- Proficient in Unity + Wwise integration: hooking audio into gameplay, using C#, understanding audio lifecycle.
- Strong DAW skills using tools like Pro Tools, Reaper, or Logic: editing, mixing, mastering, and preparing mobile-ready assets.
- Proven experience optimizing audio for mobile platforms—handling compression, streaming, voice limits, memory/CPU profiles, and battery considerations.
- Skilled with performance profiling and debugging using Wwise Profiler, Unity Profiler, and on-device testing.
- Solid grasp of basic DSP concepts such as filters, occlusion, spatial audio.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams, communicate effectively, and document clearly.
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git, Perforce) and maintaining organized audio pipelines.
- 4–5 years of game audio experience, including at least one shipped mobile game using Unity + Wwise.
- (Nice to have) Experience in live-service games with ongoing audio updates.
- (Bonus) Authentication like Wwise Certification, FMOD or Unreal audio experience, Python scripting for tools.
