For game companies, studios, and publishers worldwide, we offer world-class game development expertise to power creativity, growth, and profitability in their games.
About the Role
We’re looking for a Product/UX Designer to help craft the user experience for an upcoming Game Companion App—a mobile-first experience that connects with a player’s PC or console game to enhance their in-game journey, support session planning, showcase player stats, and provide deep community and utility features.
You’ll play a key role in defining how players interact with their game beyond the core gameplay—ensuring fluid connections between platforms, intuitive interactions, and a delightful, immersive interface that feels like a natural extension of the game itself.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Design Companion-first UX: Build wireframes, flows, and high-fidelity prototypes for key features such as match replays, loadout customization, squad planning, event reminders, chat integrations, and stat tracking.
- Player-Centric Thinking: Conduct player interviews, surveys, and usability tests to uncover what players need most from their out-of-game experience—and refine designs based on this feedback.
- Bridge Platforms: Work closely with game designers, backend engineers, and live ops teams to ensure seamless interactions between the companion app and the core PC/Console game.
- Visual Cohesion: Design interfaces that are not only clean and functional but also match the tone and visual identity of the main game.
- Feature Discovery & Engagement: Innovate on how to surface new content, promote limited-time events, and support community-driven experiences in-app.
- Documentation & Handoff: Prepare detailed design specs and UI guidelines to streamline collaboration across engineering and QA.
- Explore & Evolve: Stay updated with trends in game-adjacent tools and second-screen experiences across genres and platforms.
What We’re Looking For
- 3 to 5 years of experience in product or UX design—bonus points if you’ve worked on companion tools, game-related interfaces, or second-screen experiences.
- A portfolio that showcases mobile-first product thinking, feature-rich interfaces, and polished interaction designs.
- Strong command of tools like Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or other modern UI/UX platforms.
- Solid grasp of user-centered design, with a focus on game or entertainment audiences.
- Ability to think systemically, solve for edge cases, and anticipate user needs across varied usage contexts.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, cross-functional teams.
- Degree in Design, HCI, or a related field is desirable.
Bonus Points For
- An eye for gaming UI/UX patterns or experience with tools like game launchers, community hubs, or esports platforms.
- Knowledge of live services, in-game events, or how players engage across sessions.
- A gamer’s mindset—whether you’re into Sports games, competitive shooters, MMOs, or co-op adventures, we’d love someone who understands the player journey firsthand.
