Role Overview
We’re seeking a highly motivated and experienced Security & Networking Engineer to join our cloud infrastructure team. You’ll play a key role in architecting secure and scalable networks across AWS and GCP, ensuring our game backend services remain fast, reliable, and secure. You will be responsible for defining and implementing security best practices across cloud platforms, handling incident response, network policy enforcement, and working closely with DevOps and LiveOps teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Cloud Security Architecture: Design, implement, and maintain secure infrastructure and networking layers across AWS, GCP, or hybrid cloud environments.
- Network Design & Maintenance: Architect VPCs, subnets, firewalls, routing tables, and VPNs to support global game deployments.
- Access Control & IAM: Define and enforce identity and access policies using AWS IAM, GCP IAM, and role-based access control (RBAC) systems.
- Security Monitoring & Incident Response: Set up monitoring, alerting, and forensic tools to identify and respond to threats, breaches, or vulnerabilities.
- Compliance & Best Practices: Implement and enforce cloud security compliance (SOC2, ISO27001, etc.) including encryption (at rest/in transit), secret management, and audit trails.
- Automation: Automate security and networking tasks using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar IaC tools.
- Collaboration: Partner with backend, SRE, and platform teams to embed security and networking requirements into the infrastructure lifecycle.
- Documentation: Maintain technical documentation for network topology, threat models, security configurations, and operational runbooks.
Skills & Experience Requirements
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure, security, and networking roles.
- Cloud Platforms: Deep experience with AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform, including security services (e.g., GuardDuty, Security Hub, Cloud Armor, etc.).
- Networking Fundamentals: Proficient in TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, firewalls, load balancers (e.g., AWS ALB/ELB), VPNs, peering, and NAT.
- Security Best Practices: In-depth knowledge of cloud-native security models, IAM policies, encryption, key management, vulnerability scanning, and SIEMs.
- IaC & Automation: Proficiency with Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation for automating infrastructure and security.
- Monitoring Tools: Experience with tools like Datadog, CloudWatch, Stackdriver, Splunk, or ELK stack.
- Scripting: Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Go for automation and custom tooling.
- DevSecOps Mindset: Experience integrating security into CI/CD pipelines and development workflows.
- Certifications (Nice to Have): AWS Security Specialty, GCP Professional Cloud Security Engineer, or similar.
